Inner Vision is the culmination of works exploring confinement and the vital necessity to grow beyond constrictions that are constantly exerting downward and inward pressure. Some paintings in this exhibition have escaped confinement and communicate in repressed symbols, but still buried in formal abstraction. Others works, like glowing embers, have a lot of potential energy confined to various geometries. Geometries and hard lines have become the language of outside control forces here and free, glutinous, comingled forms have become the language of expression that is only internally repressed. These motifs, and the full and total representation of life force in abstraction is the quest that the artist is exploring more broadly.
