Collages
These collages were made during the early 2010s, when digital tools were just starting to merge with hand processes. Working from magazines, prints, and found materials, I treated collage as both a form of shorthand and an intuitive sketching method — a way to explore composition, structure, and symbolic form outside of painting.
While the work stands apart from my painting practice, it shares the same search for balance between material and meaning. Many of these studies became visual stepping stones toward the language found in my later paintings and mixed-media works.
