Ghosts in Concrete, surrendered

Ghosts in Concrete, surrendered is one of two paintings in a diptych-like arrangement.  The two works began with a base of paint colors; Flint’s matte white and black, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, and raw umber in a mix to match a specific concrete color. Through a printing process, the outlines of these paintings were formed and these characters emerged. In this painting, we have lighthearted 2d effigies of death at the hands of war.
